  Qualifying Education
 

Credit toward the qualifying education requirement for appraiser trainee, certified residential and certified general appraiser licensing will only be granted for courses that consist of at least 15 instructional hours, including successful completion of a final examination.

Real Estate Appraiser Trainee
Seventy five (75) hours of AQB required Core Curriculum courses as listed below:

Basic Appraisal Principles 30 hours
Basic Appraisal Procedures 30 hours
15-Hour National USPAP or Equivalent 15 hours
Total Hours Required 75 hours

Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser
200 hours of AQB required Core Curriculum courses as listed below AND an Associate Degree or higher OR 21 semester credit hours in the following courses: English Composition; Principles of Economics (Micro or Macro); Finance; Algebra, Geometry or higher math; Statistics; Computer Science; and Business or Real Estate Law. Effective 01/01/2015, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university. No subsitution allowed in lieu of the degree and 200 hours of AQB required core curriculum.

Certified General Real Estate Appraiser

Approved Qualifying Education Providers and Courses

  Continuing Education

Credit toward the continuing education requirement for licensed appraiser trainees, certified residential and certified general appraisers will only be granted for courses that consist of at least two instructional hours.  A final examination is not required on courses administered for the purpose of continuing education. All continuing education hours submitted for credit must be in appraisal topics. This includes any course completed through REALTOR® boards, and/or proprietary schools. This action is taken based on a mandate from the Federal Appraisal Subcommittee in Washington, D.C.
